F22 Donkervoort Teaser Reveals Taillights, Will Debut On December 10

Donkervoort has been known to make very light handcrafted supercars. But after the D8 GTO, which was announced more than a decade ago, the Dutch automaker has yet to reveal a follow-up, bringing us to this – the Donkervoort F22.

It’s not a real car yet. Donkervoort only teased the model in a short video on the company’s Facebook page, confirming its name and launch date, which will happen on December 10, 2022. The teaser footage also comes with the car’s taillights and a shadow representation of the rear. .

Previously teased as a model that would be worth “heavy”, a teaser of the new Donkervoort F22 on Facebook came with the following caption:

Come to see the light on December 10, when Donkervoort will reveal the F22 to the world for the first time. Then you don’t have to weigh again for F22.

The teaser also comes with a signup link so you can be a part of the launch event along with the rest of the world.

Information on the F22 Donkervoort is scarce at this point, except for some clever play on the word “heavy”. Judging from the initial teaser, we can see a Donkervoort which is heavier than its predecessor but with added strength.

For the record, the outgoing D8 GTO is powered by Audi’s 2.5-liter inline-five turbocharged engine, which now produces 435 horsepower (325 kilowatts) and 420 pound-feet (570 Newton-meters) of torque.

The origin of the name F22 is also a mystery at this time. It could be named after the famous Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor stealth fighter, backing up another line from an earlier teaser that said “You’ll never see it coming.”

This is all speculation at this point as nothing has been confirmed yet. Anyway, we will find out the truth about this with the imminent launch of the F22 in a few weeks. As always, pay attention to this space.
