Mercedes surprise in the 2022 Brazilian GP Sprint Race: Russell wins ahead of Sainz and Hamilton. He disappoints Verstappen (4th).
The Sprint Race of 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix Formula 1 gives his first career victory a George Russell. Even if it will not count for the statistics since the real race is held tomorrow, it is a great satisfaction for the young bishop of the Mercedes which ended in front of everyone after a long chase against Verstappen.

Sainz manages to overtake Norris, as Magnussen completed his first ever lap in first position with the Haas. The latter was penalized by ten seconds for a too hard closure against the 4-time World Champion.
Returning to the lead, with the passing of the laps Verstappen got into trouble with the temperature of the tires, while Russell’s Mercedes flew more than expected. The overtaking then comes on lap 15: the battle gave Sainz the opportunity to get closer and try to overtake the Dutch driver in turn.
Hard fight between the two with Verstappen coming out worse with the slightly damaged front wing. So, Hamilton was also able to get close who, in front of a cheering crowd, managed to overtake the rival of 2021.
The tender therefore ends with the Russell’s victory, followed by Sainz, Hamilton and the two Red Bulls of Verstappen and Perez. The Grand Prix will take place tomorrow evening at 7pm Italian time, with the two Mercedes in the front row followed by the two Red Bulls. It will be a good fight.
