Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo are the MotoGP heroes of the moment. How much do the world champion and vice-champion earn?
Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo are respectively the new MotoGP world champion and vice-champion in 2022. Fabio Quartararo has renewed with the Iwata manufacturer after a long push and pull, linked to the technical guarantees for the next two years, starting with a new engine specification for his Yamaha M1. After the first races, when everything seemed destined to fall apart, the signing of the two-year renewal arrived.
Quartararo super signing, extra bonus for Bagnaia
According to some rumors Fabio Quartararo he would sign a contract worth a good 10 million euros per season. Suffice it to say that Maverick Vinales, his former teammate until the summer of 2021, would have been paid 6.5 million euros a year. A figure that he certainly didn’t collect having terminated his contract prematurely and then moved to Aprilia alongside his compatriot Aleix Espargarò.
The KTM board member confirmed the figure of 10 million Hubert Trunkenpolz in an interview with Speedweek.com: “I heard this figure of 10 million from a reliable source. Initially I could not imagine that a House could pay such fees, given the current economic crisis. I thought nobody in this paddock got more than 5 or 6 million euros“.
