A man from Brescia has been circulating without a license for 30 years. When he was stopped at a checkpoint in recent days, he left the agents completely speechless, claiming he had never taken it.
It sometimes happens that you leave the house and forget your driving license or the whole document holder, generally you sweat cold when you visit the checkpoint, because you are aware of the fact that you risk a fine of €173 for lacking papers.
Probably this fear is nothing compared to what the man who drove without a license for without a license should have felt 30 years because it was never achieved by him.
The man had been driving without a license for 30 years, here’s what happened during the check
The fact took place in Brescia, the protagonist of the story is a 55-year-old man who, following a very normal check carried out by the local police on the stretch of road that goes from Pisogne to Costa Volpino, he claimed he never held a driver’s license and that I’ve driven 30 years without it.
Initially according to what was reported by the agents, the man would have tried to justify himself by claiming that he had forgotten her at home. After the agents have deepened the check and following the results of their researchthe man admitted that he has always driven the car well so he has never felt the need to get a licence.
Then the check got worse, because it turned out that the vehicle’s insurance had expired, therefore not only was the man in question fined, but the vehicle was also impounded.
Fine for driving without a license and other consequences
We take this opportunity to remind you that the fines in these cases are very high, that driving without a license risks a fine of €5100. The sum can be reduced if the fine is paid within 5 days. The reduction in this case is 30%.
If 60 days pass, it shoots straight up to €15.300, the more time passes, the more it increases up to a maximum of €30,000, to which is added the detention of the vehicle for 90 days. If, on the other hand, the same infraction is committed a second time, therefore it causes a recurrence, the complaint is triggered.
The man in question totaled a good €6,000 in fines, 900 euros for the circulation of an uninsured vehicle. If for any reason he decides to challenge fate a second time, he will be reported to the prosecutor.
Luckily for him he was the owner of the vehicle. If the car had belonged to another person, a complaint for careless assignment of the vehicle would also have been triggered with a fine ranging from 398 euros to €1595. This is what article 116 paragraph 14 of the Highway Code says.
