Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, has issued a recall for some units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq to address vehicle screen display issues.
Problem: Affected vehicles may have been equipped with faulty display screens that occasionally go through a boot-up/shutdown cycle while the vehicle is parked and turned off. If the crossover door is opened, this process can be interrupted. If the process is interrupted for a specified five second period, the display will remain blank. The blank screen condition will usually reset if the Cadillac Lyriq is turned off and turned on again.
The danger: if the vehicle display screen goes blank during vehicle operation, the instrument panel and other Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) features will not be available, increasing the risk of an accident.
Repair: the dealer will update the Cadillac Lyriq display control module software. Since all vehicles are covered under warranty, reimbursement for procedures will not be available.

Number of units affected: an estimated 168 units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq are affected by this defect.
