The official announcement for 2023: Valentino Rossi continues his challenge with four wheels together with a new brand.
The news only lacked official status, but now all the business plans of the BMW brand are starting to unravel in view of the 2023 season. The legendary MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi he will be among the great protagonists of motorsport again next year and will participate in the championship Fanatec GT WCE. For the Doctor it will be his second commitment in the automotive category after his debut in 2022, in which he collected modest results at the wheel of an Audi R8 GT3.
From next year, Valentino Rossi will have the BMW M4 GT3. The Casa dell’Elica has announced that “The Doctor” will be an official BMW driver next year. He stays true to his Team WRT managed by Vincent Vosse and will take part in the two major races of the 24 Hours of Dubai in January and the 12 Hours of Bathurst (Australia) in early February, as preparatory events for the upcoming GT World Challenge Europe championship.

Together with Augustus Farfus and Maxime Martin, the over forty year old from Pesaro will face the season on a factory BMW and will be able to complete further races and tests on various racing vehicles of the German manufacturer. “I am proud to become a BMW M works driver. This is a great opportunity for me“said Valentino Rossi. “Last year I took racing seriously and finished my first season with Team WRT, who I’ve had a great relationship with since the beginning“.
Now that WRT has chosen a new brand, the nine-time motorcycle world champion is pleased to inherit this brand change. “I have already been able to test the BMW M4 GT3 twice and have a very good feeling. I think next year we can be competitive. BMW M Motorsport also gives me the opportunity to work with two very good drivers, Maxime Martin and Augusto Farfus. I still have a lot to learn and I can keep improving“.
