Lamborghini’s marketing division has achieved great success in recent years. A few years ago, the supercar automaker donated the Huracan to the Italian State Police, and more recently, it has been used to transport two kidneys to patients in hospitals from hundreds of miles away. It’s a very win-win situation for both people and brands. Lambo’s latest promo video, however, shows a very different kind of marketing, but is still very original and touching.
A two-minute video released by the manufacturer today tells the story of a young man who returns to his hometown and visits his childhood barber shop where he used to get his hair cut when he was little. Unfortunately, the barber’s business has not been doing very well in recent years and is in dire need of advertising. The man immediately realized that he had the perfect advertising tool in his hands – a lime green Lamborghini Huracan.
The young Italian parked his supercar in front of the barbershop and gave the aging barber some much needed encouragement as people started taking photos and selfies of the machine and posting them on social media. Many people also started paying attention to barbershops and became clients which revived the barbershop business. In the end, the owner of the Huracan also went for a quick haircut and showed the barber a photo from when he was a kid.
With this inspiring video, Lamborghini says goodbye to a very successful year in terms of sales and looks forward to an even more exciting and important 2023. In about three months from now, the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based company will introduce a successor to the Aventador, equipped with a new electric V12 engine. It will have a plug-in setup with full electric mode available, as well as an 8,500 rpm redline. A PHEV version of the Urus is also being developed and starting next year, Lamborghini wants to electrify all three of its model lines.
