The administrative detention of the car applies to all people who have become the protagonists of a failed payment on a debt. It obliges the user not to be able to circulate on the road, but not only. In fact, you won’t even have the option to scrap or demolish the vehicle. But what’s new about this measure? For what reason can you have the administrative detention removed without having to pay additional sums? Here are all the details about it.
The administrative detention of your car can be applied in the event that debts have not been paid, such as car tax, VAT, IRPEF or other similar mandatory taxes. The competent bodies – therefore, the State, the Municipality, the Region, the INPS or other – they can “lock up” your car.
In fact, it represents a real movable property of the person who owes something. The administrative detention on the car can be applied also by the appropriate institution in the event that no payment has been made some important sanctions, due to infringements of the Highway Code.
Once a particular vehicle has been registered in the Public Automobile Register (PRA) in possession of an administrative detention, it will not be possible to use this means until the debt is paid. Once the payment has been made, it will be possible to use your car again, since the administrative detention will be immediately released.
In addition to the non-circulation obligation, a machine that has been stopped cannot be demolished or scrapped by the owner. Furthermore, even in the event of sale, the vehicle cannot circulate if the debt has not been cancelled. But how is it possible to get the administrative detention released without chasing away a euro? Here are the details.
Administrative detention, here’s everything you need to know in order not to pay out any extra euros
Let’s start right away by saying that to suspend or cancel the administrative detention, the only solution is to pay the sum owed to a creditor institution. It will be possible to agree to pay off the debt in one go – in this case the detention will be canceled immediately – or by paying it in installments. In this second case, the administrative detention will be suspended. You will be able to go back on the road, but the definitive cancellation of this measure will only take place when the total debt has been paid. But what will you no longer have to pay a euro for?
Not being able to use the car for many is not a trivial problem. Being able to get the administrative detention releasedso, it is of fundamental importance to be able to go back to living everyday life work and personal with greater peace of mind. Once the debt has been paid, the situation will be unblocked and circulation can take place immediately, as mentioned.
Until recently, in addition to paying the debt, the user was also forced to pay a stamp duty on the file for the cancellation of the administrative detention. It was 32 euros and had to be paid to the Public Automobile Register (PRA). Today, however, this practice of canceling the detention is completely free. You will therefore no longer have to pay out other euros in addition to paying the debt.
There is, however, a constraint. The cancellation of the administrative detention must have been carried out by the same body which, some time before, had requested its effective implementation. If you are “up to date” on this, then you won’t have to pay any additional dollars.
All you have to do is start the procedure for canceling the detention or at the relevant offices – car practice agencies or ACI offices – or online. Once you have shown (or sent) all the administrative detention documents and the actual debt settlement receipts, the situation will unblock immediately and you can go back to using your car again.
