There are simple ones strategies to implement to save on fuel consumption and considering the recent price increases it is advisable to observe them. First of all, you need to know that refueling early in the morning allows you to get the actual fuel you are paying for because it is less dense, but there are other tricks to follow to save on consumption, such as that of the window. Let’s find out what it is!
Some tricks to save fuel
There are some simple tricks you can follow to save fuel that are simple to perform. First of all, you have to be careful not to make sudden accelerations while driving. In fact, a smooth and flowing ride, without sudden accelerations, jerks and frequent changes of pace, allows fuel savings of up to 30%.
Also speed affects consumption and if you drive on the motorway, reducing the average speed by just 10 km per hour, you can also save a liter of fuel every 100 kilometres. Other tips to follow are as follows:
-Turn off the engine in case of short stops – if you stop at the traffic light, and the wait is longer than one minute, turn off the car. With this trick you save half a liter of petrol every 100 km of travel.
-Check tire pressure – tire pressure is important for reducing fuel consumption and you must never drive with a pressure just 0.5 bar lower than the ideal one. You can save 0.25 liters of petrol per 100 km.
– Pay attention to the load being transported – if a vehicle is heavily loaded, consumption is higher. Eliminate the extra weight if you want to save on fuel consumption.
To save fuel use the window trick
In addition to the tricks listed above to help you save fuel, there is also that of the window. In fact, you can limit your fuel consumption quite simply closing the car windows if you are traveling at medium to high speeds.
The reason? The turbulence that is created inside the passenger compartment can brake the vehicle and therefore have an effect in consuming more fuel while driving.
In this way, however, by keeping the windows closed, there will be no turbulence inside the vehicle and fuel saving is guaranteed!
