From January 1, 2023, the driving ban will take effect: if you have this car, you should throw it away. Here’s what you need to know.
All of Italy is in panic: the new one is expected from January prohibition. If you have this car you will no longer be able to drive: the list is official. This ban has nothing to do with air pollution levels and does not affect specific categories of vehicles. It is often difficult to move smoothly and regularly on the roads: there may be queues and traffic jams following an accident or due to the large number of cars in circulation.
For facilitate circulation and make it as fluid as possible, it is necessary to adapt the roads also by resorting to valid alternative methods, which allow the situation to be improved. The limitations that will be introduced will have to guarantee a proper traffic flow and not a ban on polluting cars. Here’s what changes from January 1, 2023 for certain car categories.
Driving ban starting from 1 January 2023: here’s what changes
The Government has issued the measure which affects a specific audience of vehicles, which causes circulation to be slower than it should be. According to Article 7 of the Highway Code means for transporting things with a maximum total mass exceeding 7.5 tons, vehicles carrying dangerous goods and exceptional transport vehicles must follow certain traffic rules.
The traffic ban it is valid on all anniversaries and on all public holidays. The driving bans are not valid for all 24 hours, but only for a certain time slot, i.e. from 7 to 22. The calendar was issued on 13 December 2022 and will be well foreseen 79 days during the new year 2023. The driving ban days include all Sundays and some Fridays and Saturdays.
Driving ban from 1 January 2023: calendar published
The Ministry of Transport has published the dates relating to the movement of heavy vehicles for the whole year 2023. The traffic ban applies to all vehicles with a mass greater than 7.5 tons carrying heavy loads and dangerous goods. The driving ban applies on the days set out in the calendar, but also on all Saturdays from 8 to 24 and on Sundays from 20 May to 3 September 2023.
Driving ban: who does it not apply to?
The traffic ban provided for above by the specific decree published by Ministry of Transport it does not apply to the armed forces, the police forces, the port authorities, the fire brigade, the civil defence, the regions and the Red Cross.
