Now that the bright new year has come, we wish you everything you wish for during the holidays. If not, and you’re still looking for the right toys to make your winter season a little brighter, you’ll want to know what’s new in the LEGO Technic catalogue. Batman fans, in particular, might be pleased to see the Batcycle from the latest film interpretation of the Dark Knight, the Batmanwill be available soon.
The kit consists of 641 pieces, and is intended for fans aged nine and over. Since this is a LEGO Technic toy, it certainly wouldn’t be complete without the moving parts. As such, the Batcycle gained steering, suspension, an articulated H4 engine, and even a chain drive to connect the engine to the rear wheels. Most importantly, there’s also a folding center stand that you can maneuver into a lower position so you can more easily display your Batcycle when you’re done building it.
How big will the model be? Measurements over 6.5 inches (16 cm) high by 13 inches (33 cm) long and 4.5 inches (11 cm) wide. That means it’s a good size for assembly and display, but not too big to have on hand hard time figuring out where to put it when you’ve got it all together.
The Batcycle kit, like all LEGO kits, comes with detailed instructions for assembly. But if you’re more of a visual learner, don’t worry—LEGO has you covered too. The LEGO Builder app lets you view a 3D model of the kit you’re trying to build, which you can then rotate and zoom when you need to take a closer look. You can also save sets you have in your collection in the app, as well as track your progress on completing them—but the 3D models section seems especially helpful.
Now here’s the bad news, if you’re reading this right after the January 3, 2023 publication date. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a few months to get your hands on it, as the LEGO Technic Batcycle kit isn’t available just yet. According to the toy maker, it will be officially released on March 1, 2023, the MSRP will be $49.99.
What do you think about the design? Did it live up to your expectations, or were you disappointed by how faithfully it reproduces the bike seen in movies? Are you excited to add one to your collection, or will you skip this one and wait for a better Batcycle in the future? Let us know in the comments.
