There are many variants of the Porsche 911. They run the gamut from the base Carrera, Turbo grand tourer, and sporty GT3 models. Even within each model range, buyers have multiple options to customize the car to their personal preferences. This video illustrates how much difference a transmission can make. The Touring GT3 with a six-speed manual gearbox uses the standard GT3 with a seven-speed PDK.
Both cars share the same engine, so they are all evenly matched in this aspect. The naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine produces 502 horsepower (374 kilowatts) and 346 pound-feet (469 Newton-meters) of torque. The powerplant spins up to 9,000 rpm and has six independent throttle bodies.

Additionally, both vehicles are available to buyers with a seven-speed PDK or a six-speed manual.
The GT3 Touring offers buyers a sport coupe that looks even more discreet than the standard model. Most notably, it misses the large manually adjustable wing at the rear. The tail, on the other hand, has an active spoiler that sits flush with the body when not in use. Other styling tweaks include a different grille on the front fascia. Inside, it comes standard with extended leather seats.
The GT3 model adopts a double-wishbone arrangement for the front suspension. In comparison, the Carrera model has a MacPherson stand there.
Despite having extra gear ratios to work with, the PDK-equipped GT3 doesn’t outrun the Touring in this video. Within a quarter mile, the dual-clutch vehicle is only a tenth of a second faster. Manual even won a few races due to user error from GT3 drivers.
The video presenter points out that the two models excel in different ways. Someone living in London might prefer the PDK as it can function as an automatic gearbox in heavy traffic. If the customer happens to live somewhere with fewer vehicles on the road then manual provides more driver engagement.
