The Telepass has solved many problems for many motorists from all over the world, especially for those who travel every day to reach their place of work or those who like to travel frequently by car for leisure and relaxation.
Unfortunately, however, not everyone knows how it should be positioned correctly and what the consequences may be a non-functioning telepass, with a flat battery.
It may seem trivial, but a flat device battery can cause quite serious problems that are annoying especially if you are running.
Here’s how to recognize Telepass sounds and alerts
The first thing to do if you have a Telepass is to memorize the tones and signals. There is in fact so much difference between the intermittent sound, the continuous one, the acute one or the serious one. Each of these means something different.
For example, a high-pitched tone indicates that transit has been completed, a low tone indicates an anomaly, if it happens once it may not even be anything serious, if it happens two or three times it is advisable to call for assistance. While three high-pitched tones indicate low battery.
If the device is rechargeable then there is the display which solves everything because it indicates the charge level with the notches that appear by pressing a key, i.e. the display ID key. When there’s only one notch, then it’s time to change the battery.
When the battery icon flashes with the red light on, it means that immediate replacement is required because there is a risk of arriving at the toll booth and remaining there waiting for it to rise.
Here’s how to replace the discharged or non-functioning Telepass battery
As regards the rechargeable Telepass, a new battery can be requested from the Punto Blu. To replace it, proceed as indicated: press lock A using a pen, then slowly slide the lid off.
Then extract it from the battery compartment by removing pins A and D, then repeat the procedure in reverse to insert the new battery and that’s it. A non-functioning battery, dead, in short, to be replaced may cause double charges.
If it should happen that due to a flat battery or any other problem, the barrier does not rise, it is recommended not to act impulsively and therefore not to carry out any reverse or inversion manoeuvres, but to wait for the arrival of Telepass personnel, always ready to solve any problem in a few minutes.
