Introduced in 2018, the current Bentley Continental GT will be refreshed mid-cycle. Now in its sixth year, we’ve seen a few limited edition cars but no substantial changes to the company’s sportiest model. However, this week we’re looking at a new version of the car, and while it looks like the refresh will be small, it’s enough to keep the Continental au courant going.

Photographed in Sweden, the Bentley Continental GT sports updated front and rear fascias. Ignoring the temporary LED light bar that’s installed for extra nighttime visibility, the lighting is a bit different. The headlights were redesigned with only a thin black band covering their shape. At the rear, more black duct tape and mesh wrap covers turn into the taillights. The rest of the car looks unchanged. However, the heavy snow does provide some camouflage, so it’s possible that the Continental could receive some revisions to its sheet metal.
If the subtle exterior changes are any indication, there likely won’t be much new under the hood. Last year Bentley updated its W12 engine for the Continental GT Mulliner, increasing its output to 650 horsepower. The car currently does 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. Very fast for Crewe enterprise customers.
A more radical change would be a shift to greener forms of power. Last year, we saw Bentley testing a PHEV version of the car. In early 2021, the company indicated it was considering the Continental GT PHEV, citing customer demand for a more environmentally friendly model. Bentley invested heavily over the next 10 years to upgrade the company’s facilities and move to electric vehicles. By 2030, it plans to offer electric versions of all of its models. However, there is no indication of when the Continental EV or PHEV version will debut.
Inside we also expect minimal changes to the interior. At best, revisions should be limited to a few trim changes and technology updates to keep Continental competitive in the realm of automotive exclusivity.
