As entry points in the lineup, there are the front-wheel drive CLA 250 and the all-wheel drive CLA 250 4Matic. They still use the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 221 horsepower (165 kilowatts). The powertrain gains a 48-volt electrical system and a belt-driven starter generator that produces 13 horsepower (10 kilowatts) for smooth driving when the start-stop system shuts down the engine.
The vehicle received an updated nose with a redesigned front fascia and a star pattern for the mesh on the center grille. The headlights have new graphics inside the lights. At the rear, the designers tweaked the diffuser.
Mercedes is offering the refreshed CLA 250 model in new Hyper Blue and Starling Blue colors. There are also three additional wheel designs.
Inside, they now come standard with a 10.25-inch display for the instrument cluster and infotainment display. MBUX software has new Classic, Sporty and Discreet look styles. The steering wheel gets Nappa leather and a heated version is an option. Updated cabin trim options include dark carbon-look materials, open-pored brown linden wood or brown microfibre. The optional Burmester stereo gets Dolby Atmos functionality.
The Parking plan is standard and includes a 360 degree camera view. The available Driver Assistance Package is updated to improve steering control for the lane keeping assist system.

The 45 S now produced 416 hp (310 kW), from 382 hp (285 kW) previously. Torque increased to 369 pound-feet (500 Newton-meters) instead of 354 lb-ft (480 Nm). Mercedes did not change the estimated acceleration time to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 4.0 seconds.
