It’s time to give some automotive credit, but instead of just watching from the side, Motor1.com readers choose a winner. It’s time for the Motor1.com Social Car of the Year 2023 awards.
How to Choose
This year, all the action takes place on our official Motor1.com Instagram account, and specifically, on our Instagram stories. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing daily head-to-head challenges of cars competing in five categories. Just click on the poll for your favorite car; we will tally the votes to determine the winner and move on to the next challenge.
The first challenge starts January 23, and there are challenges every day through the week to choose!
Category
For 2023, we have eight cars in five categories, giving us a total of 40 competitors. One winner will be selected for each category, with the vehicle that receives the most votes overall winning the Social Car of the Year crown.

Process
One week is devoted to each category, starting with the quarter-final matches. The semifinals come midweek, with the finals occurring every Friday. Each match will be on Instagram Stories for 24 hours, during which time you can vote.
40 competitors determined by Motor1.com editorial based on the popularity of vehicle postings on social media over the past few months.
Regional And Global Winners
you read this on Motor1.com US website, but our M1 family is global. Various editions are participating in this Social Car of the Year challenge, with specific competitors for various markets around the world. When all is said and done, global Motor1.com Winners will be announced on March 1.
