Tomica is roughly the Japanese equivalent of a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car. It makes all kinds of automotive toys, and the company’s new line combines cool classic vehicles with transporters to take them around.
There are four offers to choose from. Two of them come with the Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition. The yellow example of the Italian supercar comes with a Lamborghini branded black box truck. The rear of the carrier opens, and there is a ramp to roll the Countach into the rig.

If you prefer to see the Countach all the time, then there’s a set with an open operator. It also has a ramp so you can pretend you’re the new owner taking delivery of the iconic supercar.
The 25th Anniversary Countach debuted in 1988 with a restyled body. It has tweaked the intakes in the hamstrings for a more aggressive look. The 5.2-liter V10 sitting behind the driver produces 449 horsepower (335 kilowatts) and 369 pound-feet (500 Newton-meters).
If you prefer Japanese sports cars from roughly the same era as this Countach, there are two choices in this line. One of them is the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo coupe, the Z32 generation. It comes with a white open car carrier bearing the Nissan branding.
Along with the Toyota Supra, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Mazda RX-7 and others, the Z32 300ZX was one of the most impressive Japanese sports coupes that arrived in the early 1990s. Buyers can get Nissan with the naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V6, but the twin-turbo version from the factory is the star. It produced 300 hp (224 kW) and 283 lb-ft (384 Nm).
Finally, there’s the first-generation Acura (with the Honda logo here since it’s a Japanese market) the black NSX Type R with red seats visible through the windows. It comes with a white transporter which has a line drawing of the car, model emblem and brand emblem.
The NSX Type R arrived in 1992 as a more hardcore version of Honda’s already capable sports car. It weighs about 265 pounds (120 kilograms) lighter by removing a lot of the luxuries for the standard model. The suspension is also stiffer. The engine is still a 3.0-liter V6, but there’s a higher final drive ratio.
Each car and operator set retails for 2,640 yen ($20.20 at current exchange rates). While Tomica toys are available in the US, there’s no indication as to whether the company plans to sell them there.
