The Mercedes-Benz lineup will undergo a major transformation in the coming years. The automaker is pushing battery-electric vehicles heavily, and that includes offering entry-level models like the upcoming EQA sedan. The new renderings preview what the model will look like before its debut sometime in 2024.
Recent spy shots captured the sedan’s winter test, covered in camouflage and cladding. Motor1.comexclusive renderings peel back the lid to reveal the design possibilities. Many of the car’s finer styling details remain under wraps, with renderings blending the recently restyled CLA with the look of the brand’s model EQ.

Mercedes may have teased the car in May 2022, and is reportedly showcasing styling cues from the Vision EQXX concept. The EQXX features a super-slick 0.17 drag coefficient, helping it extend the available range to 621 miles (999 kilometers). It’s unclear what could have been carried, but the spy shots show a vehicle with a sloping roof. The extra cladding at the front shows that Mercedes is revamping the face for better aero. The rendering incorporates a bit of the EQXX into the sedan’s headlights.
There is a possibility that Mercedes will drop the EQA name when the car debuts. A report from earlier this month said that the company plans to phase out the EQ branding starting in 2024. The first model that allegedly doesn’t use the naming structure is the electric G-Class which will go on sale next year. Mercedes allegedly no longer needs the sub-brand as EV has become its main product. However, the automaker will likely retain the EQ branding for its EV services and accessories.
The electric CLA will likely use the automaker’s new MMA architecture, also expected to debut in 2024. Mercedes designed the platform for BEVs first, but can accommodate both petrol and diesel engines. New EVs should arrive with next-generation battery packs and efficient electric motors.
The EV should offer at least 200 horsepower (149 kilowatts), with Mercedes offering the model in both front and all-wheel drive configurations with single and dual motor layouts. It is expected to offer a range of 279 to 341 miles (450 to 550 kilometers) on the WLTP cycle. It will likely arrive with the latest software and safety standards and should be able to offer Level 3 conditional automatic driving with its Drive Pilot technology.
