According to Tom Humble, co-founder of ECD, Mayem reflects a typical Land Rover Defender 110 build. He said it was completely modernized and called it an “offroading devil” built to take on any obstacle. Judging from the 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 33-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires and the combination of skid plates and front bumper with built-in wench, the look is unstoppable, or at least ready to throw a mess.
But what makes it stand out is the color. Everything is black from the roof rack to the rims. Every surface and every piece of hardware is painted Santorini Black, giving it the gleaming look of Darth Vader’s helmet. Personally, it must be as black as staring into the abyss or Beelzebub’s soul pit.
The GM Performance LT4 supercharged V8 pumps out the power to tackle snow-capped peaks or vast desert landscapes. In other ECD builds, the LT4 produces 650 horsepower which gives this monster the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in around 5.0 seconds. Black Brembo brake calibers rule the stance, and the ECD Air Ride’s suspension smoothes out bumps in the terrain.
Inside, Nero’s MOMO steering wheel frames All American gauges. Four heated Corbeau Reclining Racing seats provide comfort for passengers in the first two rows. In the back, there’s room for four more people on an inward-facing bench seat. Like the exterior, the interior is all black, right down to the black diamond-stitched seats, door panels, and even the black-stained teak wood accents.
ECD doesn’t provide a price, but this Mayhem level isn’t cheap. Prices for the customized Defender 110 start at $224,995 and go up from there. If a V8 engine isn’t your thing, an ECD is still available for you. The company will build you a Tesla-powered Defender if electric mayhem is more your thing.
