During January 2023, there are no Cadillac Lyriq discount offers, meaning that the luxury marque is not offering any incentives or deals for the purchase or lease of its first all-electric luxury crossover.
This isn’t entirely surprising, as the Lyriq only started hitting dealerships in July 2022 and has so far proven to be a highly sought-after vehicle. A total of 8,195 Lyriqs were produced last year at its Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, as the luxury brand increased production of its all-electric crossover in response to unprecedented demand. Even so, production figures do not even come close to actual market demand.
Not only isn’t Cadillac offering any Cadillac Lyriq discounts this month, but buyers of the luxury electric crossover won’t be able to take advantage of the $7,500 federal EV Tax Credit either. This can be attributed to a technicality by the US Department of the Treasury, which does not classify the Lyriq as a utility vehicle, thereby placing the luxury electric crossover outside the parameters required to qualify for the tax credit. Instead, it is considered a “passenger vehicle,” meaning its retail price must not exceed $55,000 to qualify for the full tax credit.
