The booklet or registration certificate is a mandatory document to have in order to be able to circulate on public roads. In fact, it contains all the information about our vehicle. At the request of the police, during a check, all of us are obliged to show this “identity” document of our car. But among the many data present, which one must absolutely be taken into consideration? Let’s clarify this matter.
The card or vehicle registration certificate it is a document issued upon registration of the car. In the event of a new registration, a “creation” of a new document will take place. Practically, it is the document certifying all the technical data of the car. It is issued together with the license plate.
As well as your driving license and your identity document, each person is required to always have the vehicle registration document at hand whenever one gets behind the wheel. Most people, in order not to risk that this document could be lost or forgotten, put the booklet inside the drawer on the passenger side.
A practical choice, but also a bit risky. In fact, in the event of theft of the car, in addition to reporting the fact, it will be necessary to report the loss of the document within 48 hours.
The Highway Code – through article 180 – obliges all motorists to always have the registration document in the car. During each check by the police, in fact, the documents that will always be asked of you will be the driving license and, indeed, the registration document.
Anyone who should be stopped, therefore, will have the obligation to show this fundamental driving document. In case of absence of the booklet at the time of the request, a fine of between 42 and 173 euros will be automatically triggered.
But to which technical data in the booklet do you always have to pay particular attention? Here’s everything you need to know to never have problems in a certain aspect.
Vehicle registration document, pay attention to this fact: fines are flocking
The vehicle registration document, therefore, is essential to always possess. Another important aspect concerns the knowledge of the data present on it. In fact, every motorist should know everything about his car. This way he would avoid having any problems during a police check. In some cases, in fact, the lack of knowledge of a detail could cause us to receive an unexpected fine. What are we referring to?
On the back of the registration certificate there are a whole series of data, indicated through a small legend. They take into consideration the owner’s personal data, the registration date, the make and type of vehicle, the number of axles, the engine capacity, the power and many other data.
Every aspect of our car, in fact, will be indicated in the booklet. Among these, there is also the capacity of the vehicle, i.e. the approved weight that can be transported during a move. Obviously, it will be expressed in kilograms.
In case of travel and, therefore, of the presence of a large number of bags, it is always better to understand what is allowed to do and what is not. In fact, luggage must be arranged – by law – in such a way as not to obstruct the driver’s view. Furthermore, they must be arranged so as not to “roam” freely inside the passenger compartment, for safety reasons.
Objects can be placed on the roof of the car in case of need, thanks to a special luggage rack. Even here, however, it will be appropriate to understand how far to go. Inside the car, too, you should know that by law it is not allowed to carry objects that protrude more than 30 centimeters out of the window.
In the event of irregular loading, the forces of order will have the right to fine the transgressor with a fine ranging between 87 and 344 euros. To this, moreover, could be added the deduction of three points from the driving license. Inquiring about the maximum load allowed and the ideal way to arrange everything, therefore, is essential to avoid incurring very heavy penalties.
