2024 Toyota Tacoma Spy Photo Shows The Truck’s Digital Interior

The spy photos taken today give the all-new look of the next generation Toyota Tacoma. Medium sized trucks have been out and a few times recently in heavy camouflage. However, this is the first time we’ve seen pictures of the interior.

The dashboard and instrument panel are hidden under layers of cloth but still reveal the main details of the interior. Most notably, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma will sport a digital instrument cluster and receive a revised steering wheel design.

Like the current truck, the infotainment screen sits at the top of the center stack. The screen appears to show the music playing from the smartphone or other external device and has icons for various menu functions. The screen itself looks slightly larger than the current model’s eight-inch display.

The 2024 Tacoma positions the shifter on the driver’s side of the console. Unlike the current model, which places the shifter on the passenger side, with the handbrake on the driver’s side. From the photo, it is not certain whether the handbrake lever has moved to the passenger side or has been completely replaced with an electric parking brake. There is also no indication of where the four-wheel drive selector is located and whether it stays in the center stack or moves closer to the shifter.

Previously we saw renderings of the Tacoma’s exterior, which shares a number of similarities with the new Tundra. Both feature stylish slats below the headlamps and an octagonal grille with integrated rectangular fog lamps.

Under the hood, the new truck reportedly offers two engine options. A turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is used in the 2023 Highlander, and a hybrid variant pairs the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor.

We haven’t seen the true 2024 Tacoma sans camouflage as Toyota has been trying hard to keep it under wraps until launch. When it does, however, it will face the updated 2024 Ford Ranger and newly introduced 2023 Nissan Frontier in the competitive midsize truck market.
