Farewell to one of the 2023 novelties, removed from the MotoGP calendar. But the problems may not be over.
It is not news that takes everyone by surprise, on the contrary, a particularly eventuality immediately appeared unlikely. But he was still put on the calendar MotoGP 2023, one of the two hypothetical novelties for this new world season. We are talking about the appointment at the Sokol International Racetrack, in Kazakhstan, in theory an interesting debut for the MotoGP World Championship. It will be gone for this year and will not even be replaced. So that’s all for now postponed to 2024, but it may not be the only appointment cancelled…
One less GP (for now)
The 2023 MotoGP calendar included a total of 21 appointments, making it the longest in the history of the World Championship. Now let’s go down to 20GP in all, as mentioned, the planned appointment in Kazakhstan will not have a substitute. Indeed, even this number is not entirely stable, since there is still an event in strong doubt. We are talking about the second novelty, namely the possibility that the MotoGP World Championship will debut in India, precisely on the new Buddh International Circuit. At the moment, however, there is no certainty: in the Dorna press release regarding the cancellation of the Kazakh GP, the Indian stage still appears with two asterisks. That is to say, there has not yet been theapproval of the track to compete in the MotoGP event. It is not absurd to say that there could be a second cancellation… A canceled GP is one though breath of air for the MotoGP kids, who have a decidedly hectic season ahead of them. The families thanked, pilots and staff too, but there is one “but”: he’s back spectrum of the five weeks of summer break. An eventuality already tested with the (definitive) farewell to the KymiRing and which made one turn up one’s nose a bit because it was considered too long!
