Maxus is one of the most experienced Chinese brands in Europe. A division belonging to the insatiable Geely group, which will now expand its offer in our market with something different. And it is that in the era of SUVs, Maxus is encouraged with a classic minivan designed for families and for transport systems such as shuttle to airports and hotels.
After launching its industrial models as well as the T90 pick-up, Maxus enters the passenger car segment for the first time with the MIFA 9. A 5.27 meter long model that offers space for up to seven people in a 2-2-3 configuration.
According to the brand, this offers the occupants a high level of comfort in all seats thanks to the installation of individual seats in the second row as standard, but also, depending on the equipment package, many comforts typical of luxury models, such as the function of massage, heating and ventilation of the seats. The side sliding doors simplify access to the rear and avoid the classic slamming doors of other vehicles.
Inside we also find a 12.3-inch touch screen, from where we can control the infotainment system, and which also allows the integration of the phone through Apple CarPlay or QD-Link.
The equipment is quite extensive and we find, depending on the version, elements such as heated exterior mirrors, front and rear automatic climate control, keyless entry system, light sensor, reversing camera, and also for the control of the rear seats, as well as parking aids, with 360 degree vision systemwhich are certainly appreciated in view of the size of the vehicle.
Within the safety equipment we find numerous assistance systems, and in addition to adaptive cruise control, which maintains distance and speed, it has traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, parking assistants. lane keeping and change, rear collision warning and cross traffic warning with emergency braking, six airbags.
A Maxus that will have a wide range of options, with luxury packs ranging from 7,000 euros for the Luxury, which adds two electric sunroofs, 64-color ambient lighting and front and rear access lights, automatic anti-glare interior mirror, rain sensor, inductive charging station for smartphones and electrically adjustable and folding exterior mirrors and a 360-degree parking system as well as additional parking aids at the front make maneuvering easier. s. The driver and front passenger benefit from electric seat adjustment that includes lumbar support, while the second row has a seat massage, heating and ventilation function. The tailgate and sliding side doors open automatically, and tinted windows ensure privacy to the rear.
The “Premium” package is priced at 14,000 euros, in addition to luxury features with leather seats, heated steering wheel, reclining second-row seats with massage function, heated and ventilated seats, also in the front. It features a display in the rearview mirror, as well as self-sealing tires mounted on 19-inch alloy wheels.
No less important is that during the Euro NCAP crash tests, the MIFA 9 received all five stars.
Maxus MIFA 9: technical characteristics
On the mechanical side, the Maxus MIFA 9 mounts a 180 kW (245 hp) electric motor that is powered by a 90 kWh battery. This provides a range of 440 kilometers according to the WLTP standard, with an approved average consumption of 21.8 kWh per 100 km. As for the charging aspect, in alternate mode it can reach 11 kW, while fast charging allows you to recover from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes.
