At the end of last month, Skoda presented during the event We are going to explore its new product offensive for the next three years (2024-2026), which will include both the renewal of its two largest models (Superb and Kodiaq) and the launch of six electric cars, four of them completely new.
In addition to the renewal of the already known Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé, which will receive a restyling in 2025 to adopt the new design language modern solid, Skoda will launch three additional SUVs and one station wagon (Combi) with the aim of meeting the needs of a broad spectrum of customers. In total, the Czech manufacturer will invest 5.6 billion euros in electromobility until 2027.
One of these models will be a B-SUV manufactured in Spain, more specifically at the Landaben (Navarra) plant, where it will share a production line with a Volkswagen twin. The SUV will measure approximately 4.10 meters long and will have a starting price of around 25,000 euros before aidbecoming the electric car of access to the range.
This SUV will be called to replace both the Fabia (4.11 meters long) as in kamiq (4.24 meters long), combining the dimensions of the first with the habitability of the second. At the moment Skoda does not plan to have a utility derived from the CUPRA Raval and Volkswagen ID.2, so this will be its smallest electric.
Skoda’s electric SUV will have a maximum range of about 400 kilometers
Based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB Entry platform, the Skoda baby will be a front-wheel drive vehicle available with two types of battery: a LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) with 38 kWh of capacity and other NCM (nickel, cobalt, manganese) of 56 kWh. Both packs will use new unified prismatic cells produced in Sagunto (Valencia).
In its most powerful and capable version, the baby skoda will yield 226 PS (166 kW) and will approve an approximate range of 400 km WLTP. Its top speed will be 160 km/h. As for the load, it will reach a maximum power of 11 kW in alternating current and 125 kW in direct current (10-80% in 20 minutes).
As is the norm in the Central European firm, the cabin will be practical and modular, with numerous storage compartments and Simply Clever solutions that will facilitate the day-to-day life of users. As for the equipment, it will have a level 2 semi-autonomous driving system, Matrix LED headlights, Park Assist Plus with memory function, electric seats, panoramic roof…
