Porsche Is Bringing The First 356 And More Classics To Goodwood, Check Them Out

Porsche was the flagship marque at last weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the company just released 68 photos from the event to show off some of the fantastic cars from the German brand in attendance. It was part of the automaker’s ongoing 75th birthday celebrations.

Porsches throughout the brand’s history reside in Goodwood. There’s everything from early examples of 356s and tractors to the latest brand models. The company debuted the Vision 357 Speedster (below) as an ode to the automaker’s original Roadster while using the 718 GT4 e-Performance concept as a starting point. It featured 20-inch magnesium wheels, carbon fiber hubcaps and a soft tonneau cover on the passenger side.

Porsche is also bringing the new Mission X concept (below). It is a forward-looking electric supercar that produces around 1,700 horsepower. “Over the next month, we will consider building it,” CEO Oliver Blume said when the model debuted. So far, there has been no announcement of the number of production of these vehicles.

Part of being the featured automaker at the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​includes an art installation in front of the manor. Porsche partnered with Gerry Judah for a statue featuring the 1951 356, 1960 718 Formula 2, 1990 962C, 2009 911 Sport Classic, current 963, and 911 race cars. The artist dramatically poses the vehicles, including hanging some of them upside down.

Porsche also showed off the 356 art car. The artist Lusion wanted to visually depict the evolution of the model. It has a free-flowing shape that gives way to seeds that bloom into flowers.

The company brought some rare machines to the event to take part in the parade up the hill. They include 356 No. 1, “Trigema” racing version of the 1983 Porsche 928, Cayenne Transsyberia, 959, and 911 1 millionth produced.
