Here’s How To Use Built-In Google Features In Cadillac Vehicles: Video

Posted on

The state-of-the art infotainment system found in certain Cadillac vehicles allows for seamless integration with an owner’s Google account, offering conveniences such as Google Maps – plus integration with one’s Google account, not to mention other useful features. In order to help owners understand how to use built-in Google services, the luxury marque released a video describing how to set up and navigate the system.

When first entering a Cadillac vehicle with built-in Google, a prompt will be displayed on the infotainment screen, asking users to sign into a Google account, or to create a new one. It’s important to note that in order to use the service, the vehicle must be outfitted with a Cadillac connected services plan, which can be added to a vehicle by simply pressing the OnStar button to speak with an agent, or by signing into Cadillac’s website to view available plans. Once a Cadillac connected service plan has been identified and the owner has signed into the Google account in the vehicle, the owner will be able to access all of the handy features.

These features include Google Maps, which acts as a navigation system integrated directly into the infotainment screen. From here, users can input a specific address to get real-time directions, or can search for points of interest, EV charging stations and gas stations.

Google Voice Assistant is also available, which allows users to take advantage of the Google search engine’s hands-free voice-activated content. To activate this feature, simply press the voice activation button on the steering wheel or say “Hey Google,” wait for the chime, and then speak a clear command. This feature can be used to initiate phone calls, text messages, navigation or more. For example, saying, “Hey Google, take me home,” will open Maps and navigate toward the address recognized as the user’s home.
