The 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Road Tripper Adds Orange Trim For Family Fun

Posted on

Chrysler introduced the minivan to the world in the 1980s, and that segment is still alive today with the Pacifica. As a reminder that this family vehicle likes to go the miles with ease, the Detroit automaker has come up with the Pacifica Road Tripper.

As it turns out, orange and gray are the color choices for road trips because that’s what you get with this special look package. Specifically, Chrysler added gray Road Tripper graphics with orange trim on both front doors. The Chrysler badge on the grille and rear liftgate gets orange trim, and the gray wheels also have an orange logo cut on the center cap. More gray – without orange this time – trims the front fascia, grille, lower door molding, door handles and mirrors.

There are no changes to the interior. The Road Tripper package is available in three colors: Bright White, Ceramic Grey, and Brilliant Black. This is only offered on the Pacifica Touring L and Touring L Hybrid models, which include the comfort suite of standard equipment such as the Uconnect 5 Chrysler infotainment system, power heated front seats, heated steering wheel, 20-inch wheels (18 inches for the Touring L Hybrid model), and much more. Power for the Touring L comes from Chrysler’s 3.6-liter V6 engine, sending 287 horsepower to the front wheels. The V6 also holds the station in the hybrid, although combined power drops to 260 hp.

Chrysler fans on social media are responsible for the Road Tripper name. The automaker presented several names for the special Pacifica on its social channels and invited people to vote for their favourites.

“Chrysler has been helping families come together and travel for decades, and the Chrysler Pacifica Road Tripper celebrates our minivan’s role as the perfect vehicle for creating unforgettable family moments on the road,” said Chrysler CEO Chris Feuell. “Pacifica is the best Van Life for Real Life solutions, and make life easier with innovative high-tech features, award-winning interior comfort and safety technologies.”

The cost for the Road Tripper package depends on which Pacifica trim level you choose. For the Touring L, it’s an additional $2,395. The same van with AWD has a slightly lower cost of $2,095. The Touring L Hybrid – which is only offered on FWD – is the cheapest of the lot at $1,495. Orders are opening early next year with deliveries planned for spring, but you can see them in person starting this week at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show.
