The Mitsubishi Ralliart is definitely back. We’re not talking about the sticker-packed truck that was announced earlier this year for Thailand. We mean that Mitsubishi is back in rally racing and that is in the form of the Triton Ralliart which will be competing in the 2022 Asian Cross Country Rally.
As the author is currently in Buriram, Thailand to witness the event’s flag-off, we’ve seen rally drivers in metal and getting close to it. Here are some photos of the truck, taken before the gruesome endurance rally race started.

The Mitsubishi Triton Ralliart rally racer isn’t the only Triton (or Strada/L200) showered with sponsor stickers. It also comes with the necessary mechanical upgrades for racing.
Classified as an FIA Group T1 rally car, it comes with modifications clear for motorsports such as a lighter hood and carbon fiber doors, roll cage, undercarriage, and a slightly tuned 4N15 2.4-liter MIVEC turbocharged diesel engine. Output is still on stock figures at 178 horsepower (133 kilowatts) and 317 pound-feet (430 Newton-meters) of torque. Tuning focuses on reducing friction and increasing responsiveness in the mid-speed range.
Meanwhile, other mechanical upgrades include front and rear Cusco LSD, adjustable Cusco front and rear dampers, Endless ventilated disc brakes front and rear with 4-piston calipers, and a set of 17-inch Work aluminum wheels wrapped in Yokohama Geolander tires.
This truck is a challenger to Team Mitsubishi Ralliart in the 27th Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR). The annual FIA-certified cross-country rally covers 1,056 miles (1,700 kilometers) of all kinds of terrain from the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Cambodia, from mountains, forests, swamps, seashores, rivers, deserts, plantations, asphalt, and even loops along with weather conditions. unpredictable in this part of the world.
The Mitsubishi Ralliart Team is a private team owned by Tant Sports in Thailand. This was backed by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) technical support for joining AXCR. At the helm, Hiroshi Masuoka – a driver to win back-to-back Dakar Rally from 2002 to 2003 – leads the group as Team Director.
