At the Tavullia Ranch the curtain falls on the 8th edition of the ‘100 Km of Champions’. Valentino Rossi and Luca Marini do not hit the victory at home.
The long weekend at the Tavullia Ranch ends, where the eighth edition of the “100 Km of Champions“, now a traditional year-end event that attracts illustrious names from international motorcycling. Champions of the caliber of Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Martin, Danilo Petrucci, Augusto Fernandez and many others flocked to this edition as well, joining the students of the VR46 Academy.
A day of free practice was held on the oval on Thursday Valentino Rossi ranch, with the guest riders who had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the dusty terrain of the ‘La Biscia’ estate and adjust some details to their bikes. Friday was held the challenge to the American knockout, with Luca Marini winner ahead of Franco Morbidelli. In the night between Friday and Saturday a strong storm hit the Marche region, forcing the organizers to postpone the 100 Km of Champions to Sunday.

After qualifying and the warm up on Sunday morning, shortly after lunch time, the 40 riders, divided into twenty pairs, began the real challenge, with Elia Bartolini and Lorenzo Baldassarri who immediately got off to a strong start and dominated the ‘100 km’, triumphing in front of the hosts Valentino Rossi and Luca Marini. On the lowest step of the podium the couple formed by Celestino Vietti and Niccolo Antonellidemonstrating how essential it is to know the Ranch terrain as well as being fast and professional riders.
Grand finale with awards ceremony based on hams and sausages and final show by the comedian and cabaret artist from Romagna Paul Cevoli, which gave hearty laughter to the participants and the many present. Then again music, food, entertainment and chat among those present, for an event which, despite the absence of live television, continues to attract more and more attention and curiosity from the fans.
Those who could not be at the Ranch will be able to enjoy the images of the race in the coming weeks on Sky Sports MotoGP, with comments by Mauro Sanchini and Guido Meda. Now for many riders it will be an opportunity to enjoy a few days of vacation after the efforts of the World Championship and the embrace of friends and family.
