There is comfort in driving a small car. It’s easy to maneuver, parking is relatively easy, and when the roads get narrower than usual, you’re less likely to be involved in an accident.
That last bit is the exact opposite of what happened with the big Mercedes dump trucks in the UK. Caught on dashcam footage and sent to YouTube ViralHog, the truck is seen coming from the opposite direction on a fairly narrow road. The Hyundai crossover/SUV ahead is slow and cautious, while the truck does the same.
However, in an effort to avoid friction with the oncoming vehicles, the truck drove too far to the opposite side and miscalculated the distance. Unfortunately, the road ends in soft dirt that cannot support the weight of a large truck (or lorry, as they are called in that part of the world).
Because of this, the truck fell sideways and continued to roll down the hill as seen in the video embedded at the top of this page. According to the sender of the video, the truck rolled over three or four times before finally coming to a stop.
The driver of the car with dashcam footage rushed to check on the driver and passengers. The truck was by his side after the altercation, and one of the two passengers managed to eject. He motioned to the good Samaritan that they were fine and there was no need to call an ambulance.
The police came after the witness asked for help, immediately closed the road within five minutes. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident, but we know that we have learned a thing or two from this accident.
