When looking for a place to park your car, it often happens that you come across driveways and have to look for another parking space. However, the question that many are asking is the following: are all the driveways posted along the roads compliant with the law?

What is the driveway?
The driveway is a sign that prohibits parking in front of a private area that opens onto a transit area such as the road. Article 46 of the Highway Code regulates how to place a driveway and what it must contain to be compliant.
Each city-issued driveway pass is valid for 29 years, with some exceptions. However, not all of them are in order and you need to pay attention to some details that allow you to identify the authenticity of the cartel.
What detail should the driveway have
When access is also reserved for pedestrian traffic, the vehicular entrance must be separated from the pedestrian one. Furthermore, the sign of the driveway cannot be placed at a height lower than 60 centimeters from the ground or even higher than 2.20 metres.
Finally, the driveway must be positioned on mobile elements such as doors, gates or chainsotherwise it is not visible. Another important detail is that it must be affixed authorization number and year of issue.
