It’s no secret that the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is fast, thanks to its supercharged eight-cylinder powerplant, balanced rear-wheel drive setup and a host of ready-to-go features and parts. In fact, this ultra-high-performance luxury sedan is now recognized as the fastest production sedan to ever grace the Dubai Autodrome GP Circuit.

The CT5-V Blackwing recently pulled off an incredible lap, navigating a 3.34 mile course in just 2:17.63 seconds, eclipsing the previous record by over a second.

“Performance has always been part of Cadillac’s DNA, and it is perfectly personified in the CT5-V Blackwing,” said Kristian Aquilina, Managing Director Cadillac International Operations and Cadillac Middle East. “The fastest Cadillac car arrived in the region with big bang and quickly claimed its territory on some of the world’s most famous tracks, its natural habitat.”

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing also holds another record in Dubai, proving to be the fastest four-door sedan with a lap time of 2:20.97 at Yas Marina in 2021.

As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing uses a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), which produces 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, channeled exclusively to the rear wheels. Other track-ready features include an aero package, electronic limited-slip rear differential, Magnetic Ride Control and grippy Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. This super sedan uses the luxury marque’s Alpha 2 platform, and is assembled at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. Production for the 2023 model year started on July 18th.

In the US, the super sedan becomes more expensive for the 2023 model year, starting at $92,390 for models featuring a standard six-speed manual transmission, while the 10-speed automatic takes the initial MSRP to $95,565.
