The motorway allows you to travel quickly and with peace of mind, with less risk of getting caught in traffic jams and being delayed as a result.
Unfortunately, however, in recent months there have been sharp increases in motorway tolls, which will make life difficult for all those who by force of circumstances are forced to take the motorway to save time.
Some price increases arrived from midnight on January 1, 2023 they were authorized by Matteo Salvini, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, and by Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of Economy and Finance. Unfortunately there was nothing else to do.
Prices increased in 2023, since 2018 the prices had remained unchanged
Since 2018, motorway tolls have not increased, now the government has had to approve tariff adjustments for various reasons. As a result, tolls increased by 2%, at least for now because it doesn’t end here.
Starting from 1 July 2023, further increases of 1.34% will arrive which will entail an overall increase during the year of 3.34%. The worst was averted as Minister Matteo Salvini points out, declaring that there was a risk of facing a substantial increase of 5%.
Over the past few months we have noticed how everything has increased, even the fines. So perhaps that was to be expected.
What is happening in Italy, what will change for those who travel the highways every day
In Italy, the economic and financial plan has been approved according to which several billions will have to be invested in maintenance and construction of new works including the Genoa eaves which will require an expenditure of around 4 billion and the Bologna bypass which will require 1.5.
The increases authorized were those of the Autovia Padana Piacenza-Brescia, they are increases of 9.16%. Then the Turin-Milan motorway, the A33 Asti Cuneo which have been affected by increases that revolve around 4.30%. Followed by the east ring road of Milan which marks a plus 4.34%.
Then in any case there will be some discounts and roundings that will reduce the increase by a few euros, motorists will be able to rely only on these small discounts to save some money.
As for the rest, the stop to increases on the A24 a25 Torano Pescara motorways has been confirmed. Indeed, even the Minister of Transport is evaluating a possible reduction in tolls on well-defined routes that have not yet been reported.
Finally, it should be clarified that there will be no increases of any kind, not even minimal, with regard to the Brenner motorway, the Autovie Venete, the A12 motorway Ligurian Tuscany, Brescia Milan and finally Sicilian Autostrade.
