Mercedes has just given the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe in the GT 63 and GT 63 S classes some design changes in 2022. However, spy shots suggest the brand still has more revisions to it on the horizon. This set of photos provides a close look at the updated model under camouflage.
Mercedes’ engineering team placed egg crate panels on the grille, which was the team’s general strategy for models sporting the Panamericana design there. The horizontal bar must be present when the cover is removed.

The lower fascia is under the wrap which hides the style. We can see every detail in these images, but hiding those areas suggests that Mercedes intends to make changes there.
Camouflage strips cover the vents in the front fascia. The shape of the area appears more rectangular than the current view.
At the rear, a camouflage strip covers an area normally used for the model designation and the Mercedes star emblem.
Instead of the usual pair of exhaust outlets on each side, this car has one pipe coming out of each side. They have thermal tape around them, indicating these may not be final production components.
The spy shot of the previous development vehicle provides one shot of the interior. The layout looks identical to the existing model. However, we cannot rule out software upgrades.
The exhaust tweaks mean we can’t rule out Mercedes making powertrain adjustments to the GT 4-Door. The door in the rear bumper tells us that this car is a plug-in hybrid.
Nowadays, you can get a Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door with a lot of power. The Performance Class 63 SE has a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, a rear axle-mounted electric motor, and a 6.1 kilowatt-hour battery pack. The result is an impressive total output of 831 horsepower (620 kilowatts) and 1,033 pound-feet (1,400 newton-meters) of torque. This is the most powerful Mercedes-AMG vehicle ever available to the public for road use.
It’s unclear when the revised Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door will debut. It’s still early in the year, so we can’t rule out a premiere in 2023.
