First Details of 2024 Subaru BRZ tS Confirmed: Brembo Brakes, STI-Tuned Suspension

Posted on

As promised, Subaru introduced a “sharper and more focused” BRZ over the weekend at California’s Subiefest. The hotter coupe in question brings back the “tS” suffix that was used during the first generation model. Although the press release has not been published yet, the US website contains some initial specs. The most notable upgrade is the Brembo brake kit both front and rear. In the photo below, we see the car has gold calipers.

We also know for a fact that the new BRZ tS benefits from STI-tuned suspension, with those who saw the car in metal claiming to have Hitachi dampers. That’s somewhat surprising considering that the 2024 GR86 has received Sachs dampers for the newly added Performance Pack, which comes as standard on the Trueno Edition. Just like the spicy Subie, Toyota also got Brembo.

New 18-inch wheels and subtle design changes inside and out were mentioned by Subaru, but that’s about it for now. Subiefest attendees claim the new tS will be a permanent trim level, not a limited run special edition as was the case with its predecessor. It appears to come in all colors, complete with a rear tS badge and a red BRZ logo in the corner of the headlights.

As announced back in June, Subaru added EyeSight to some manually equipped models. The BRZ tS was apparently the first, according to those who saw the car at the event. Don’t be too surprised if the regular BRZ will get this feature too. One unconfirmed change for the hotter tS is the switch from aluminum to cast iron knuckles.

Full details should be released sooner rather than later considering the car has already been shown to the public. Expect the BRZ tS for the 2024 model year to be the new top-range version.
