Ford is transitioning the Bronco Sport into the 2024 model year with a retro twist by reviving the appearance package originally offered in the late 1970s. It’s not just the classic Bronco that gets the Free Wheeling treatment as the F-100, F-150, Econoline and Courier also have optional colorful stickers. Fast forward a few decades later, the boxy compact crossover revives a custom look made of gradients of red, orange, and yellow.
True to the original Free Wheeling model from a few months ago, the vintage-flavored 2024 Bronco Sport also has reflective graphics on the hood and tailgate. Also, the 17-inch alloy wheels have red accents while the front grille has a silver finish. Additional visual tweaks include black mirrors, bumpers, and roof, along with red and orange stripes on the dashboard and seats.

The Blue Oval mentions the Bronco Sport Free Wheeling is a special, limited-edition run based on Badlands. With a starting price of $33,730 (plus a $1,595 destination charge), it commands a $2,500 premium over the base trim level. The Configurator is up and running on Ford’s website, featuring seven body colors and many individual packages and options. You can only have it with the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
If you prefer something more muted, the 2024 Bronco Sport also gets a Black Appearance Package with a black carbon grille, 17-inch matte black alloy wheels and a dark roof. The Ford badge is finished in smoked chrome and the hood has matte black graphics. Inside, the airbag covers have black Bronco bucking badges.
Black Appearance is only offered for Big Bend trim for an additional $1,750 and cannot be bundled with the Black Diamond Off-Road Package or Shadow Black paint.
Speaking of colors, the 2024MY features Azure Gray and Desert Sand but you can’t have them on the Free Wheeling or Heritage variants. Ford is already taking orders for its slightly revised Bronco Sport lineup.
