Late last year, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq landed in Switzerland. The luxury marque is continuing to broaden its range in Europe, and the electric luxury crossover is now available in France.
According to a report from Reuters, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq was recently shown off in Paris and will be available for purchase beginning March 23rd, 2024. Buyers will customize and purchase their Lyriq entirely online, as Cadillac has chosen to move away from the traditional dealer network used in North America, although there are plans to open a physical showroom in Paris. In fact, the luxury marque is testing the online-only sales model to find out if it will appeal to a wealthier customer base.
“When you look at the battery electric vehicle market in France, it is the luxury market that grew to the greatest extent,” Cadillac Europe President and Managing Director, Jaclyn McQuaid, said in a statement. “The luxury market is where the focus is right now.”
Thus far, Cadillac has not revealed specifics for the France-bound Lyriq, including pricing. For reference, in Switzerland, the electric luxury crossover is priced to start at 82,000 Swiss francs, or roughly $93,100 USD.
As for power, the Lyriq will be sold exclusively with the dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup across Europe. As such, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq AWD harness twin Ultium Drive motors, with one mounted to the front axle and another to the rear. When it was announced, the European Lyriq was rated at 528 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. This figure is 28 horsepower higher than the North American Lyriq with AWD. However, the discrepancy can be attributed to a difference in the procedure used to measure engine power in the U.S. and Europe. In other words, the European Lyriq is not more powerful than its North American counterpart.
